Simultaneous presentation of the economic-financial report and sustainability report, issued on a voluntary basis, proving "their indissolubility" for the achievement of the group corporate goals. This is how Marco Sargenti, CEO and general manager of Vimi Fasteners highlights the importance of the Sustainability Report 2023 just published and referring to all three companies of the Group: Vimi Fasteners, M.F. Inox and Filostamp. A document wanted because, even in a historical context full of uncertainties, "the Group wants to be a protagonist with its values, its people, and more generally with all stakeholders," to "create value, innovate, continue to grow our business, increase the quality of people's lives along with that of our products," explains the CEO, "be an active part in the development of the territory and our community, in line with the Esg objectives.
Putting people at the center of all its activities, Vimi Fasteners last year conducted a survey about the climate of the employee’s organizational well-being, with "very encouraging" results. Among other things, "no significant gender differences emerged." The Group confirmed the possibility of smart working and offered increased training hours for employees. Commitment to the territory and support for the community was strengthened, including with the purchase of "sustainability credits" in favor of the National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and with liberal initiatives for socially useful and educational projects.
Vimi Fasteners also confirmed its sustainability toward the environment by increasing the percentage of waste recovery generated by its production cycle. The second photovoltaic plant was also put into full operation.
Economic data, governance-with management and certification systems, human resources, environment, and partnerships with communities and the territory are the chapters through which the Sustainability Report 2023 gives the results of Vimi Fasteners' way of doing business.
Last year, out of an economic value generated of 61.9 million, the Group distributed a share of 55.4 million; governance is designed according to an integrated management method, guided by a Group Code of Ethics and marked by a multiplicity of certifications earned and maintained over time: health and safety, environment, quality for the aerospace sector and quality for the automotive sector.
68% of the waste produced by the workers' processes of the group's three companies is destined for recovery; 10% of energy consumption comes from renewable sources; and the GHG emission reduction trend (scope 1 and 2 location-based) has shown a -20.44% in the three-year period 2021-2023.
At the end of 2023, the Group had 273 employees, of whom 28 percent were women and 11 percent were under 30 years old.
Convinced that the entrepreneurial future is built on quality and constant innovation, the Group during the year confirmed important collaborations with local entities to combine ideas and energy. Particularly, it is continuing its relationship with Reggio Emilia Innovazione, a hub that provides services to businesses, particularly in innovation processes, and with Innovation & Research for industry, a cluster of companies that will promote the capacity for innovation and research in a technologically advanced sector such as aerospace and aeronautics.
